Nashville, Tenn. — Oct. 4, 2024 — Alpha The Wolf will release a new standalone single, "Moons," on October 18, 2024, the Nashville artist announced. Running a lean 1 minute 31 seconds, the ghostly, atmosphere-first track is written, produced, and mixed entirely by Alpha The Wolf himself — no outside credits, no label, no co-writer.
Built on sparse, decaying 808s and a haze of ambient synth pads, "Moons" finds Alpha The Wolf working in full atmosphere mode — trading hooks for dread, and drums for negative space. The track lands under a self-applied triple genre tag of Ambient, Trap, and Rage, a combination he's staked out as his own corner of the sound.

The single's visual identity is set before a single bar plays: nine moon-phase emoji, waning to new and waxing back again, stand in for conventional cover art, turning the artwork itself into a phase chart for the record's mood cycle. Alpha The Wolf has described the process as "brooding on the production" — less a caption than a method, built to transmit atmosphere first and narrative second.
"Moons" arrives on the heels of an active year. Alpha The Wolf's debut album, Forlorn, dropped just three weeks earlier, itself built around three advance singles — "Dior," "Dancer," and "Pain" — that had already circulated for months before the album folded them back in. "Moons" marks the first new ground broken since.
