"Into The Darkness": The Songs That Didn't Fit "Frequencies" or "Synchronicity"

Nashville, TN — Apr. 17, 2026 — By the time Into The Darkness arrived on April 3, two of its twelve tracks were already out in the world as standalone singles. "Rest" and "C7" had both been living on their own before the album that finally houses them was even announced — not leftovers exactly, more like songs that outgrew the records they were written next to.

"Rest" carries the album's darkest visual language: an oversized blood-red fur coat, a wolf-jaw graphic snarling in chromatic aberration across his face, katakana reading アルファ・ザ・オオカミ layered over a red-lit backstage corridor. "I am the one..." is the whole caption the single carries — no elaboration needed against images like that.

"C7" goes somewhere entirely different — a yellow Corvette C7 Stingray, shot at night in a parking garage and an empty lot, hood and hatch thrown open under a single streetlamp. "Way too fast!" is the single's entire pitch, and the photography backs it up: engine-bay macro shots, red LED tail strips, a dashboard reading "Alpha The Wolf II" mid-playback on the infotainment screen.

The yellow Corvette photographed at night in an empty lot with both the front hood and the rear hatch swung wide open, a single street lamp flaring overhead, a floodlit green sports field and chain-link fence behind, the red LED tail strips burning along both fenders

What "Into The Darkness" means

Its own framing is the clearest statement of intent on the record: "Of course the void refuses to share its gifts for charity but, pain…pain it gleefully exchanges for its power." "True, pain is currency for power but what makes you think you've suffered enough?" "A wretched creature like yourself, what use could you possibly have for a soul?" Twelve tracks built on that exchange — a stepping stone, a transition, a gift from the void, in Alpha The Wolf's own words.

What sets it apart from the rest of the catalog is where the songs came from. Not written for this album specifically — pulled back out of the sessions for Frequencies and Synchronicity, tracks that didn't fit either world and got shelved rather than scrapped. Into The Darkness is the record built to hold the ones that refused to stay buried — a grittier, more hostile direction than either album it was pulled from, mixed and mastered entirely by his own hand.
