ATW × JIN-ROH - ANIME EDIT
Nashville-based independent artist Alpha The Wolf linked with visual editor @shotbyclaudius for an anime edit (AMV) that cuts footage from Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade - Hiroyuki Okiura's 1999 film about a wolf-masked special-forces unit - to the 2024 Alpha The Wolf single Moons.
The pairing writes itself. Jin-Roh's grey militarized dystopia, its retelling of "Little Red Riding Hood" as the fable of the wolf and the girl, and the Kerberos unit's wolf iconography sit right next to the Alpha The Wolf mythology. Against that, Moons brings its ethereal, ghostly production and haunting bars - a dark omen, a premonition of things to come - and the anime edit leans all the way into that dread.
It is the earliest of three Alpha The Wolf edits from @shotbyclaudius, alongside the Rurouni Kenshin "Beams" AMV and an alternate cut of the "Serp" music video.
