Alpha The Wolf Patrols a Marina After Midnight for "Darkness on the Docks"

After midnight on the marina.

Darkness on the Docks is six frames from the video shoot for the unreleased song "$laves" at Four Corners Marina in Nashville, part of the visual world built around the album Frequencies. One harsh overhead work light is the entire lighting setup. The Nashville artist works an all-black tactical vest and cargo pants, braided hair loose, moving between rows of shrink-wrapped pontoon boats in the dark. He posted from the shoot: "My delivery shall be darkness. Your lands will tremble at our arrival. You will be given to the void..." The work light does what the candle did in Bad Sushi - one hard source, everything else black. It rims him against the covered boats and carves the vest and its straps into high relief.

He barely ranges across the six - hunched into his collar between two pontoons, standing full height to glance back over his shoulder, dropped into a low crouch with the braids falling forward across his face.

One frame turns his back to the camera entirely - hand raised to the back of his head, the covered marina running out ahead of him under that lone light.

It ends somewhere else: a rain-slicked upper deck, a white tactical vest instead of the black one, lightning breaking over the treeline across the water. The catalogue returns to the same marina in January 2025 for Yacht Watch - a separate, standalone shoot, a fur-collared coat, a figure on the rocks watching the slips.

What "Darkness on the Docks" means

A marina after midnight is a lot of value tied up and left alone in the dark - other people's boats, covered and still, nobody watching them but whoever is out on the dock at that hour. The shoot puts the wolf in that job: the unassigned night shift, armour on, keeping count. In the wolf's scripture the VOID "opened its maw and promised to consume all," and flat black water under one work light is a fair picture of it. The switch to the white vest for the last frame, out under the lightning, is the only time he steps into the open.
