Yellow Corvette. Fall foliage. Good company.
Catalogued in the spring of 2024 - though the turning trees put the shoot itself in the fall - Airbnb on the Lake is four frames made on a paved driveway, the yellow C7 Corvette and a black Dodge Charger parked side by side under autumn foliage. The Nashville artist works a black puffer jacket, bright yellow cargo pants, black boots and round reflective sunglasses. He posted from the shoot: "Shout-out to my OGs, without them, there would be no me." (view the post)
The set is loose and social. Three of the four pair Alpha with one of those OGs - an older man in a blue polo and wide-brim hat, both in sunglasses - gripping hands between the two cars, leaning back unbothered on an ornate iron bench with the Corvette glowing behind them, Alpha laughing hard while the man tips his hat toward the lens. It reads as downtime being documented rather than posed.
The yellow C7 Corvette is the catalogue's most persistent object. It turns up on a lakeside boat ramp, in a strip-mall lot at golden hour, and eventually headlines its own single, "C7," shot at night with the hood and hatch thrown open. Here it just sits in a driveway while two people talk, sharing the frame with the Charger beside it.
The fourth frame is the only solo one - a close portrait, head tipped back, the parked cars and green brush blurred out behind him.
What "Airbnb on the Lake" means
The title names a rental and a lake, and the frames show neither - just a driveway, two cars and one of his OGs. What it documents is the downtime around a trip rather than the trip itself. In the wolf's telling the pack is where the strength is; this is the quiet version of that - two people, two cars, an afternoon, nobody performing, the caption crediting the OGs for the "me" in the frame.
