Pinstripe blazer. Fur coat. Night city.
The Bridge is one of the smallest shoots in the catalogue - two frames, both shot after dark on Nashville's Cumberland Pedestrian Bridge, its illuminated cables receding into the black and the city behind it thrown out of focus into amber and white bokeh. The Nashville artist works two looks across the pair: an open dark pinstripe blazer over a bare chest, small oval sunglasses and a gold watch; then shirtless under an oversized black faux-fur coat worn open, round dark sunglasses on. He posted from the shoot, quoting Shannon L. Alder: "The moon will guide you through the night with it's brightness, but it will always dwell in the darkness, in order to be seen." (view the post)
With only two frames there is no arc, just the same idea stated twice - tailoring and fur, skin and cold, held on a structure built for nothing but crossing. The vertical lighting on the cables does the work a studio strobe would, rimming the coat and the blazer against the dark. It sits near the pearl-chain, night-city thread the catalogue keeps returning to - the same spring produced a blue-hour rooftop over Lower Broadway.
What "The Bridge" means
A bridge is a place you are not meant to stop. The shoot stops on one, twice, and changes clothes - pinstripe to fur, the tailored version of the wolf and the animal one, photographed on the structure that connects them. In the wolf's telling the VOID cannot be contained; a bridge at night, lit and empty, is a thin line held over a lot of dark water.
