One more set from the closing night at Skydeck - August 1st, the last of seven Thursdays that made up the residency. "Deception's Form" - six frames, mostly on the rooftop deck: red city light, deliberate motion blur, the image never quite stable. Deception isn't supposed to look settled.
Tonight, 8pm, Skydeck. The city is mine - that was the whole energy of the night, even after the set ended. Long exposure, red wash, the skyline doing half the work.

What "Deception's Form" means
Three quotes, one photographer, one closing night - and none of the three lines are actually his own. That's consistent with the pattern across the whole residency: borrowed words sitting next to original ones with no seam between them, the mythology treating a stolen line the same way it treats a bar he wrote himself. A season that opened on a rooftop in May closes on the same rooftop in August, same red-and-blue light, same skyline, five more freestyles tested in front of a room that had grown considerably since the first Thursday.
