'Scenes' started as a throwaway. A loop that was supposed to be a placeholder while we worked on something else. But it kept pulling us back.
The vocal take that made the final cut was the first one. Didn't even have the lyrics written — just sounds and syllables that happened to land in the right places. We wrote the actual words around those shapes later.
Sometimes the best stuff comes from not trying to make the best stuff.
